You never know what's going to happen of an eve....
From Spiritwood Wiki
Slayne squints as the Skara blacksmith loses his attention, his head turning sharply to the window. He listens and hears again....
"Ho eyo he hum..."
"Nah.." he says, staring out the second floor window.
Soon the top of a jaunty green hat passes below, the wearer just out of sight. Slayne tosses the narrow sword to the smith for repair and thunders down the steps and out the front door. "Nooo! THUD!" he hears behind him but ignores...
Rejoined finally, Puck and Slayne tour the land in the dead of night. This scribe is sworn to secrecy about the events that transpired in their trek to Yew that evening. Suffice it to say, Slayne was embarrassed by a Lich at one point and was heard to be cursing in an unknown tongue.
Weary, after a night of adventure celebrating the end of Puck's long sojourn across the sea, they decide to spend what little remained of the night at Empath Abbey.
Puck heads off to secure them a room while Slayne makes a deposit in the bank.
"First on the left", Puck yells from down the hallway.
Finishing up his business, Slayne walks through the strangely quiet and empty abbey. As he approaches the door to the room, he hears a sharp noise. "Crack!" Then.. a thud.. Looking first for broken floorboards, he looks around and up at the ceiling.. No..
Finally he enters the room and finds:
The window open... Puck's hat on the floor by the window... A coin of Magincian mintage on the floor...
Rolling his eyes and looking upward, Slayne says, "This is a joke right? Get out from under the bed!
Nothing.. Searching the room reveals nothing else. He leans out the window and sees tracks leading off into the vinyard. Becoming alarmed, Slayne rushes outside but nothing further can be found as the heavy rain has almost washed those few tracks away now. Searching around the environs until dawn, he decides to send off a few pigeons and seek assistance at the tavern. Knowing well that Puck would return to the tavern as soon as possible, it seems the best course.
He hurries back southward and waits out the day impatiently. Finally, just as he is heading off back to Yew to search again, a stranger approaches him.
