Little known Fact and Info for everyone!

Even sine ML Went in they added bonuses for elves and hunams and the like, one of the better ones for humans is the Jack of All Trades bonus. This bonus means that basicly all skills, even if untrained, are equivalent to having '20' in that skill.

Now Chivalry, with a book easily purched at any Paladin in Luna, and a little Titheing, which can be done at any shrine... You'll have access to the following, which is quite useful, especially for no skill points.

Cleanse by Fire (Cure) - Expor Flamus - Tithing 10, Mana 10, Minimum Skill 5
Close Wounds (Heal) - Obsu Vulni - Tithing 10, Mana 10, Min Skill 0
Remove Curse (Remove Curse) - Extermo Vomica - Tithing 10, Mana 20, Min Skill 5
Sacred Journey (Recall) - Sanctum Viatas - Tithing 15, Mana 10, Min Skill 15

So, the Recall may not be all that reliable, but as you can see the Cure/Heal/Remove Curse are all quite low in requirements, and should succeed quite often, even with a low base skill of 20.

Hope this helps

Good info to know about. I also like the fact that being a human with jack of all trades allows Yale to chop wood and make arrows without having to spend 30-40 pts. Tracking is ok at 20 too, enough to rp with at least. ;-) Trying to think what else is ok at 20. I guesa alot of the lore skills would be ok to try and use at 20. I know I've used Forensic Eval a few times on corpses with a mix of success.

Yea, Taste ID, Camping, even Hiding. Whole lots that are utilitarianly useful, but I think the Chivalry one is probably the most practicaly useful.

Thanks for jogging the memory. You still need a frying pan or something with uses on it to cook with, but it makes RP alot better as a ranger when you can start a basic fire and cook some fish or meat. *grins* of course it pays to stack the meat so once you do succeed, the whole stack is done. And no one knows that you double clicked on the fire 25 times before it finally lit. Just play it cool and say"ahh first time and it lit, how good am I" :D

I don't know the ins and out of it too much anymore but at 20 tracking you can mostly just track simple beasts, close by npcs, basic animals of a variety. Not too many monsters can be tracked at 20 sadly. I have had ok success tracking people that do not have high hiding/stealth, like Aly for instance. In a RP sense, all that armor she has makes her tracks sink deeper in the mud, then say me with my leathers and featherlike sneakiness.

The point of this rambling is that if you want to be GOOD at tracking, you will need some skill. If you just want it to mess around and sometimes be useful depending on your target, then the jack of all trades is ok.

And I think that's all I need for tracking. I'm starting to prioritize more and I think I need the extra points for my animal taming. I think I'm going to replace tracking with veterinary, which sounds kinda lame, but who am I kidding. I'm lame. :p

The decision doesn't have to be made just yet though... I have other jack of all trade skills with which to leach skill points from.

If you want to be a 'good' tamer, and have fewer problems in the long run, I'd hafta say that at least three Skills are REQUIRED to GM, or at least 2 of the 3 to GM and the last to at least 80.

GM Taming
GM Animal Lore
GM Vet

I can see getting Vet up to 80 (minimum for Resing pets) and useing jewelry for the rest, but they are all pretty much required to be a decent tamer, if you want the higher end pets (Mare/Dragon/Wyrm/Beetle) and more importantly want to be able to control, hunt with, and stable them all.

Hey now...Aly has GM hiding! *grins*

Just...no stealth ability...which makes sense...she's a warrior and tends to for the most part wear heavier armor...makes it hard to stealth. But I RP the hiding part as mostly old Ranger teachings...being able to camoflauge in with her surroundings or make use of the shadows to the best of her ability...also good considering in a RP sense she can turn herself into pure electricity for short periods of time...and move to places at lightning speed. which is what I rp off as her "recall"....so if she emotes "disapears in a swirl of azure sparks" Then I'm either hiding...or recalling away.

But she does have the GM hiding! Which is ...really...my favorite skill. It's saved my butt multiple times while hunting or in PVP...or if I have to go afk real quick and I don't have to sit there and hit hiding 20 times for it to work. I can hide out in the middle of a huge field first time. lol. Only times I have problems is if something's targeting me and I'm too close to it. But I can hide I believe eight tiles away from something agressive? I think it's 8...

So does Rai, well, so did Rai, but I came to the harsh realization that a Tamer without at least 80 in vet kept gettin her bloody mare killed *grumbles*

Shame really was darn handy too.
