Thanks. I'm playing lead guitar on all three, singing on Gimme Three Steps, and singing backup on Peaceful Easy Feeling. We're branching out into the rock world so we needed some rock songs for demos. Sorta rock anyway, after we recorded this I realized how badly I've become infected with country music after playing it for four years straight :) When we started I couldn't play a country lick to save my life.

Yep, he's got a killer voice. When he's on his game, he's as good as anyone in Nashville right now.

I love them! You guys are awesome! I mean it's not the typical type of stuff I listen to....but that doesn't matter it's that good! (I'm more of an angst alternative and hard rock type of gal. *grins*) But I really enjoyed these songs. All of them. We listened to them last night.

You guys are incredibly talented. And you obviously love love what you do.

Axers are sexy. *grins*

Vroom Vroom goes the Hodurcycle? *laughs* On a serious note though it's incredible. I hope you don't mind me saving these songs once I fix my computer? And tossing them into my regular playlist?

Tell thy producer that the lead guitar levels are waaay too low, especially during the solo in Pride...that Dan feller has some mighty talent, and we need it to melt our faces, by golly! ^_^ heehee

Awesome harmonies on Peaceful! =D

What's really funny is that the way ye sang some of those words on Three Steps reminded me a lot of some of the Puck songs I've heard in the past (in a good way). ^o^ I bet the two of ye could do a heck of a cool duel! =)

Good stuff, thank'ee for sharin'!!!

Thanks! Do what you will with them, they're just quickie demos. We've been working on a real album, but I hesitate to say that because I been working on a real album about as long as most of you have known me :) But once that's done I'll share those too. It's a lot more country, but there's some good uptempo stuff on it, including my two favorites, Love is Just a Pitcher Away, and Church of Jim Beam Orthodox.

Heh, that's funny, I thought I mixed the guitar too hot for the most part. I can't say I hear the Puck similarities, but you know, california boy covering a florida boys song, sounding like a Texas boy, could happen :) I'm hoping Puck will have me score one of his movies when he's a famous producer. Thanks for the nice comments, I'll look into adding some cowbell, but not too much, I don't want to steal BOC's thing.

Nah, guitar wasn't too hot, could have been more. You know the blues one is gonna be my favorite. Great guitar work!

Nice work man :)

I personally really enjoyed Pride & Joy to the point I quirked an eyebrow thinking you guys actually have something there. Guitar was smooth, singer was actually pretty damned good. I'm a fan of SRV anyhow :)

First thing I thought was that percussion was mixed in too loud, and lead guitar was too soft (especially on the licks leading into bridge and between verses, etc). Base and vocals were good. It's a nice little solo too and should stand out more. Just kinda sounds like your listening to the band from behind the drummer :)

(PS - I'm a drummer that is biased towards mixing drums in a little louder, but i think its too strong in this song. The snare keeps drowning out the other stuff.)

Oh, by hot, I mean loud.. I thought it was great, just not loud enough :) Not sure everyone would understand when I said it wasn't hot enough, I didn't mean it wasn't good enough. ;) It was very good.

An interesting thing about that track is that we recorded it using electronic drums. We had decided to branch out and start doing some rock so we could get more gigs (only two country joints in town) and I got a line on the guy that books for my favorite rowdy biker bar, so one night I said "guys we need a rock demo". The drummer has this ancient electronic kit, the kind with the hexagonal rubber pads. If you know what I'm talking about, you used to see these on MTV videos circa 1984. It sounded like crap on wheels with the synth it came with, but he'd just bought a new head for it. You have to know this guy to get the joke, but Larry's not altogether in touch with Planet Earth. Every practice now, he goes off into his own little world and starts switching the sounds on that damn drum kit and trying all of them out, and let me tell you, some are really bizarre. Some of them sound exactly like his old head, and some are that ridiculously gated reverbed sound that was so popular in the 80's. Anyway, he's farting around on this thing, and I said "WAIT, what's that one called?" He says it's called Oyster. I don't know why. So when he start going off and doing this, we all go "OYSTER, LARRY!"

The upshot, though, is that I can't control the relative level of any of the drums, like I can't push the snare and kick and back the cymbals off or anything. But apart from that, I was pretty pleased with the sound the thing gave us.

I still have to remix the thing, and I appreciate your (and everyone else's) critiques. It helps to have other ears listen to it. One thing that I find I do is I listen to it so many times I know what's being played, and especially the words, and I tend to mix those things lower than I should.

...that we did to go with our rush-rush rock press kit :)

Papa Legbone (http://www.auroraboringalice.com/papalegbone.jpg)

From left to right, me, Tracy vocals, Larry drums, Norm bass. In the rock incarnation, the band is called Papa Legbone. I have a logo someplace that includes that little skull and crossbones I had as my avatar here for a while, but I can't find it now :(

That is kinda funny.

Originally I was gonna say that the drums sounded like they came from a synthesizer keyboard, but I was afraid that might be taken as an insult to the drummer :) Kinda makes some sense now.

Edit: OMG! OBEY! *dies laughing* That's scary.... Hodur ...the way you did that makes him look so evil =p Like he's gonna start eating babies or something. LOL...I'm sure he's a really great guy but that pic is just scary =p
