Thanks to its new September 30th release date it won't be completely overshadowed by Star Wars. Talk is, if the movie does well enough, Universal will pick it up for a second and third installment."

Yay!

*dancedancedance*

=D

'Bout frickin' time there was some movement on that, I was starting to get worried since there's been little news about its production since late last year.

*watches the trailer over and over*

I'm gonna have to see this a bunch of times in the theater to help boost the box-office intake and do me part to get more Firefly produced!! =)

Can't wait can't wait can't wait! ^o^

While I've ne'er been much of a Buffy or Angel fan, I most definitely am a HUGE Firefly fan!! =D After only one season, it made it into me Top 5 TV Serieses of All Time. ^_^ I'd put it in the "Western" genre first...and the "Sci-Fi" genre second. ;) Mostly lighthearted and quirky, with a healthy dose of comedy and a bit of action...but with some dark and mysterious undercurrents that keep the atmosphere edgy. In me opinion, e'erything about this show is brilliant...from the casting to the writing to the cinematography. It got an Emmy for some of its groundbreaking special effects, but I'm surprised that's all...though I'm confident it'd've collected a lot more had it lasted longer than one season.

An insane budget, fluctuating time-slot, and the general idiocy of FOX execs kept it from going into a second season...but the support of fans (and there are quite a few) and the profits from the DVD sales made Universal sit up and take notice, and they greenlighted Whedon's proposal for a feature film! =D And as Rai said, if it performs as well in the box-office as it did on DVD, we're gonna see more. =) Hopefully more seasons on TV...but e'en if it's just more films, I'll take what I can get and be happy. ^_^

I HIGHLY recommend the DVD's if ye havenae seen the series (they're WELL worth the time spent and the price of rental or retail)...especially since the background will make the movie e'en more enjoyable, since the plot of the film is clearly the climax of what's been building through the episodes.

Oh!!! I had no idea it was based on Firefly! I'm afraid I didn't get to see as much of that series as I would have liked, but the 4 or so episodes I watched I REALLY liked!

Schweeeeeeet.....[puts Serenity onto his SEE list]
