--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I heard a story while on a lay over in Connla. Some of the fishermen were speaking of a funny event that happened a couple months back. Some fool Albiskum going by the name Ishmael got swallowed by Shraogh. The story goes that he was looking for some white wale when he and his whole ship got eatern by Shraogh. There were only a couple survivors of that ill fated encounter. Aparently, the captain was shouting down his first mate for calling him Ahab. No one seemed to know why he wanted people to call him Ishmael, but the first mate had the misfortune of forgetting tae call him thus.
During the argument, most of the sailors paused in their tasks to watch what was going on. If the look out in the crow's nest had been a bit less distracted, possibly more of them would have survived. Who really cares though. Hope the albiskum didn't give Shraogh indigestion.
Anyway.. what with the latest child of Shraogh also roaming the area where the rubys are hunted for the Master Trials, the area has become too dangerous. One of the two has tae go.. and since the story goes that Ahab was wearing a really nice pair of boots, I have decided to hunt him down. Hopefully they will still be inside the big fish. It does sound pretty nasty though.. I think if we land the fish, I'll send Spiite in to look for em. It has to be dirty.. and besides, the dead can's really have that good a sense of smell.. right?
Anyway...
While in the area, we'll see if the Fool's Bow is up and the Spear of Kings.. if we have the right make up we'll try the SoK. If The Egg of Youth is up, we might try that if we have enough time.
We will be meeting in Aerus Haven at 9:00pm EST
Main focus for the night is hunting together and killing Shraogh. That shouldn't take too long though, so picked a few artifacts that are in the area.
Here is what the fish looks like. I didn't 'just' snarf the picture.. it is also a link to Allakhazam where I got the thing.. hopefully that works ok.

If I am able, I'll be there. It is about 50/50 as to whether I will be able to be online on that date though.

He does look happy there. I wonder if he was contemplating eating the artist who was painting that particular protrate.

hrm.. ok.
Shraogh was hauled out of the seas last night. Took somewhere around 60 people tae do it though. Being part of that mess makes me glad we didn't bait our hooks for him yet. So for now, the waters are a bit safer and we will forgo the fishing trip.
The spear of Kings and Fools Bow still look tae be up for grabs, so we will try to see if our luck in the waters of Oceanus Notos. I will make sure Lerriel brings some rams.
We will try a fairly safe (for most of us) way of running this particular encounter. It has been done successfully before in the manner I am planning and searching through the herald, I see no documented changes that will effect that.
====================
Shraogh - ouch... if we had 2 solid groups we might be able to take him... but with the way things have been going, I doubt that many people will show. I'll try to come up with something a bit more together next time.
Anyone have any requests? I know we have artifacts that people are wanting but unless we can field more than a group, a lot of em are pretty out of reach. I would like us to do something other than artifact runs sometimes too. I think that if this one does not have more than a group attend, the next gathering will be targeted for a single group and we can go to the Dark Spire in the lands of Catacombs. If we get a nice turnout, I'll try to figure out something unless a suggestion sparks interest.

Wouldn't mind picking up healer's embrace for Apple if we aren't too busy but I'd like to see other people get some stuff first before we feed my artifact addiction.
edit I do have all the scrolls for this, too

That'd be a good one for a group to do. Might be able to do it with a light menty and some warriors to take on the other lions.
If you want to put this together sometime outside of this, let me know. I have all the scrolls as well and Lerriel and Sibahn both need this one, so I plan on doing it a few times at least.

Well, that was a pretty successful outing. Poor Aanarii tried tae get in but kept passing out. Sorry ye missed it lass.
The entrepid crew was made up by (in no specific order of course)....
Lerriel
Morgin
Malorin
Ruhnach
Areebia
Peleus
Laoiral
Spear of Kings - Well that mean ole puppy was working great, all was happening according to planned, with one small flaw. We just didn't have enough attackers beating on the thing to let our casters land their spells. When he was hitting 45-48 percent he was doing small heals as well. We just couldn't keep up with even his dinky heals. If we try this one ever again, I want to bring at least one animist and 3-6 warriors if no animist, then definatly 6 warriors and the rest of the healy types and such. It is a good way to do that one... just need more oomph. Malorin had tae leave after that. (Thanks for coming Malorin!!)
Fools Bow - Next we set off for the Fools Bow encounter. We had our original compliment of folks minus Malorin. About 10 minutes of killing large volumes of squid, we got the Fools bow and passed it to Peleus. <cheers>
When we got to the Aerus Haven it was right at the 2 hour mark, so that was a nice ending for the official hunt for the night.
Some of us stayed on and others came out to help.. Enter Oidal and Verili. Morgin went off to ge more of the beauty sleep she does not need at that point. <salutes Morgin> Thankee for coming out Morgin. Laoira, my thanks for your company. It was a pleasure to adventure with you.
Kalare's Necklace - Next we searched out the Warrior statue that holds the secret of Kalare's Necklace for Ruhnach. After a few minutes of beating on the marble, he broke the necklace free and was able to treck to the water with nary a statue persuing him.
Belt of the Moon - Areebia mentioned that she would someday like the belt of the moon, and with folks having the time left to them, we went off in search of that as well. Finding both the sun and moon belts up, we decided to do both. After about 10-15 minutes we had the moon in Areebia's hot little hand. <cheers>
Belt of the Sun - We then started in on the Belt of the Sun's protectors. Terraut came out in time tae help with that tougher end game. Unlike the belt of the moon, we did not catch most of the archer defenders diceing it up on the back of the isle. After one aborted attempt to gather up the belt of the sun, Ruhnach was able to make it into the waters of safty with the belt tightly clenched in his hand. With all of the folk getting credit, an extra belt was found to be needing a home and Peleus got a belt of the sun as well.
It was a pleasing result of the evening. Thank you all for attending. With the derth of attendance though, I think the next outting will be for the Healers Embrace. Hopefully it will be up... if it is, we will actually do this twice in a row. We will go to Stygia-Percival and try to find the lion that way and once that is dealt with, we will go to Stygia-Nimue in search for it there. Hopefully at least one cloak will fall. I think that will be the only artifact we will do for that night. I will get a date put together soon. It will most likely be at this same time. (that is as early as I can almost always be available) Keep an eye out in the halls for the next one.
