It took me forever to get this thing compressed (it was over 2g!) and when I did not only did it mess up the tempo but it cut out the end. *mutters* But thought I"d post it for fun!
Metallica...rawr!
I love the .abc system!

How does the music system work? Are you uploading Midi files or something? Someone needs to do that with Broon's Bane by Rush.
As a guitar teacher I have to tell you: quit looking at your hands!

*laughs* well the notation system is for those of us who have a hard time playing music with a computer keyboard.
You can freestyle...by turning the whole keyboard into ..well a keyboard of sorts.
Or use the .abc notation system. A good link explaining how to program it can be found here: abc musical notation (http://web.mac.com/peterynh/iWeb/music/-abc-musical-notation.html). This gives links to information.
You don't have to do it yourself. There's a large number of folks talented in the language in the community who will transcribe music into a .abc file for you if you ask. It might take awhile though! I'm terrible at any kind of programming language though so I just search for them pre made or ask folks to make them for me. *grins*

I recognize that format. I don't know where it originated but it was the format used for the play command in the old GWBasic that came with MS-DOS back in the First Age right after the exile of the Noldor.

hmm...I've really been wanting to transpose some Mozart/Bach, maybe a little Tchaikovski. Now that that's in, I may have to pop back in. ;)
