I should be up and running this week sometime, so I was wondering what server had been decided upon??

Got my new PC back today (haven't set it up yet since I'm tired and it's in the box), but will have it up and running hopefully by manana. Curious about the choice of server!

Since access starts, uh, today for the pre-orders in the spirit of randomness, I choose Landroval as our server.

Unless anyone else has a suggestion. :)

It would seem that Landroval was voted as the "unofficial role-playing" server, so I would agree with that choice.. <smiles slightly>

There is a 15 max level cap in place until it opens up.

Hodur, the site says it's not too late. Head on down to BestBuy and pick up a pre-order box for $10 like I did. You can come right back home and register the key and get on in with us. :)

Well, Lester was already taken when I tried to create him on Friday afternoon, so I made Les the burglar - I think he's still in the newbie instance though. I've also got Feol the captain and Beoderen the guardian.

The fact that it only takes few hours to get to 15 means I might have one of each before the regular closed beta starts. I guess I can work on traits too. Oh well, it's better to get it out of the way now and not have to be in newbie land at the regular launch.

My pre-order "code" has not been emailed yet ... can I download the new client without that to save some time?

Actually, you can patch up your closed beta client and just play. No need to download anything.

I never received my pre-order keys from Amazon, I ended up cancelling my order there and going to best buy to get a preorder box from them. Instant gratification, and you get the DVD with the hi-res textures on it - they're niiiice if you have the horsepower. :)

Also, we are currently below the number of members we need to have a Kinship (6). Have 3 right now. Try to find someone online (Samual, Filthalaas, Alyssia) soon so we can get you added and don't have to buy another charter and start over. ;)

Ok membership crisis 2007 update:
I think due to Ruden and I stuffing the guild with alts last night that we are now doing fine again. Despite not having 6 unique accounts on the Kinship, the warning message that they're closing us down is now gone. We can all breathe easier. ;)

Also, be aware that there is a nasty little Hobbit running around the Shire trying to extract road taxes from innocent passersby. I had a loud argument with him yesterday and was told I'd be fined and reported. *sighs* Often, methinks those little things aren't right in the head...

Ahh good, I was feeling bad since my key had not arrived yet (although I think it may today).

Actually, no one we know shockingly enough. I was actually running the post into town when I heard him running after me yelling and screaming to stop. Naturally, the post stops for no one so I continued to the Postmaster. Upon arriving and depositing my charge, the little git claimed he was a Sherriff, and that I must pay a 5s road tax. I laughed at him, told him that taxes bored me, and that I wasn't going to pay it. He got a bit belligerent then.

Ahh well.
